FAQ

  • what is your style as a therapist?

My past clients have often said they feel I am the first person to deeply understand their inner workings; and why they came to be the way they are. Clients report feeling very safe and comfortable in my presence. It is difficult to describe my style as a therapist as it is really defined by the dynamic my client and I create together. Generally speaking, I personally sense there is openness, safety, compassion and curiosity in the room during my sessions. I work at a client’s pace and really encourage my clients to give me open feedback about how they are finding the experience.

  • how do i know if you are the right therapist for me?

Giving it a try is the best way to know. The connection you have with your therapist is super important and the first session really is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. Based on our discussion, we both figure out if we are a good fit and I will provide recommendations for what I think you need to achieve the changes you are seeking. Research shows that a client’s perception of the quality of their relationship with their therapist, rather than a therapist’s experience or treatment approach, is the strongest predictor of successful therapy. I will always check in as to whether you feel connected, comfortable and understood before we proceed with treatment. If you don’t feel aligned with me, please tell me so I can adjust my style and approach for you or provide other recommendations. If you really just don’t feel a click with me, it is absolutely worth trying someone else and I’m even happy to help you find some options.
